Residential town in Montgomery County, west-central Maryland, USA; population (1990) 45,500. It is located to the east of Rock Creek Park and Rockville, 19 km/12 mi north-northwest of Washington, DC.

8:10am - Premkumar Walekar, 54, an Indian-born taxi driver, is killed as he fills his car in Aspen Hill, Maryland.
Early yesterday, bus driver Conrad Johnson, 35, was fatally wounded as he prepared for his morning bus route in nearby Aspen Hill, the suburban Washington community where the shootings began on October 2.
The Medical Rats Memorial is at Aspen Hill Memorial Park and Animal Sanctuary, Silver Spring, Maryland, where there is a plaque: "In loving memory of the millions of rats used in medical experimentation.
