asset turnover

Ability to generate sales turnover from a company's asset base. Asset turnover is calculated by dividing sales revenue by total net assets. The result, called the asset turnover ratio, is the amount of sales revenue generated by each monetary unit of asset. The asset turnover ratio is an important measure of business efficiency.
