Assiniboia

Town in south Saskatchewan, Canada; population (1991) 2,800. It is situated 130 km/80 mi southwest of Regina. Named after the Assiniboine (or ‘Stoney’) Indians, it is an agricultural service centre founded in 1912 on the Canadian Pacific Railway.
