Attossa (lived 6th century BC)

Queen of Persia, daughter of Cyrus the Great, King of Persia, and wife successively of Cambyses, Smerdis, and Darius I Hystaspis (by whom she had four sons, including the future king of Persia Xerxes I). According to the historian Herodotus, she was politically very influential. She has a prominent part in the drama Persae by Aeschylus.
