Aubignac, François Hedelin, Abbé d'Aubignac (1604–1676)

French writer and critic. He defended the dramatic unities in his four-volume Pratique du théâtre (1657), and was the first to throw doubts on the existence of the ancient Greek poet Homer in his Conjectures académiques (1715).
