Augsburg, Confession ofStatement of the Lutheran faith composed by Philip Melanchthon. Presented to the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, at the Diet of Augsburg in 1530, it was intended originally as a working document for the negotiations at the Diet aiming at reconciliation between Lutherans and Catholics.
