Aureliano in Palmira

    0.01 sec.

Aureliano in Palmira

Opera by Rossini (libretto by F Romani), first produced at La Scala, Milan, Italy, on 26 December 1813. The overture was afterwards used for Elisabetta regina d'Inghilterra, and later for Il barbiere di Siviglia. Other parts of the music also appear in the latter work. The plot tells of how the Roman emperor Aurelianus allows Arsace and Zenobia to marry.
