Autio, Rudy

Autio, Rudy (1926–2007)

US ceramist. He is best known for his later figurative work, in which he superimposed improvisational drawings on anthropomorphic vessels. He was the founding resident artist of the Archie Bray foundation for ceramic arts in Helena, Montana, and taught for 28 years at the University of Montana, Missoula, where he established the ceramics department in 1957.
