Avdeyev, Sergei Vasilyevich (1956– )

Russian cosmonaut. Selected as a cosmonaut in 1985, Avdeyev holds the world record of 748 days of space flight time, during three missions aboard the Mir space station and Soyuz TM-15, TM-22, and TM-28 in 1992, 1995, and 1998. He also made ten space walks totalling 42 hours. He retired in 2003.
