Avellaneda

Town in Argentina, which has now effectively become a suburb of greater Buenos Aires; population (1996) 346,620. It lies to the southeast of the centre of the capital, on the far side of the River Riachuelo. Avellaneda is one of the most highly industrialized areas in the entire country.
