Avery, Tex (1907-1980)

US animator and director. His works are characterized by comic, frequently surreal scenes of violence. At Warner Bros he helped develop Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck before moving in 1942 to MGM, where he created, among others, Droopy the Dog and Screwball Squirrel.
