Avksent'yev,, Nikolai Dmitriyevich (1878–1943)

Russian politician, leader of the right wing of the Socialist Revolutionary Party. After the February Revolution of 1917, he became chair of the peasants' deputies at the All-Russian Congress of Soviets, then minister of the Interior in the Provisional Government and chair of the pre-parliament. He worked for a time under the Bolsheviks after they had seized power in the October Revolution, but later emigrated.
