Börtz, Daniel (1943– )

Swedish composer. He studied with Hilding Rosenberg and Karl-Birger Blomdahl, and also studied electronic music in Utrecht, the Netherlands. His opera Backanterna (after Euripides) was premiered in 1991 at the Stockholm Opera, directed by Ingmar Bergman.

two church operas; Landscape with a River (chamber opera after Hesse, 1974).

eight symphonies (1973–88); two concerti grossi (1978, 1981); violin concerto (1985); oboe concerto (1986); Parados for orchestra (1987).

Chamber

three string quartets (1966, 1971, 1987).
