Børresen, Hakon (Axel Einar) (1876–1954)

Danish composer. He was a pupil of Svendsen, and took a composition prize in 1901. Later he held many important administrative posts in the musical life of Copenhagen.

Works

operas The Royal Guest (1919) and Kaddara (1921); ballet Tycho Brahe's Dream (1924); incidental music for plays; several symphonies and other orchestral works; chamber music including two string quartets (1913, 1939), songs.
