Babbitt, Bruce (Edward) (1938- )

US lawyer, governor, and environmentalist, secretary of the interior 1993-2001. A Democrat, Babbit was Arizona's attorney general before becoming a state governor in 1978. He stood, unsuccessfully, for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 1988.
