Ballet in two acts by Albert Roussel, with scenario by A Hermant; it was first produced at the Paris Opéra, France, on 22 May 1931. Suite no. 1 for orchestra was first performed in Paris on 2 April 1933, conducted by Charles Munch; Suite no. 2 was first performed in Paris on 2 February 1934, conducted by Pierre Monteux.
