Bach, Johann Ambrosius (1645–1695)

German organist and composer. He was taught by his father, Christoph Bach. He was town musician at Erfurt from 1667, and at Eisenach from 1671.

He was the twin brother of Johann Christoph Bach. He married Elisabeth Lämmerhirt at Erfurt in 1668. In 1671 he was appointed town musician at Eisenach. His wife died in May 1694 and he married Barbara Margaretha Keul in November, but died himself three months later.
