Bacquier, Gabriel (1924– )

French baritone. He made his debut at Nice in 1950, and sang in Brussels from 1953, and Paris from 1956. In 1962 he appeared at Glyndebourne, and in 1964 at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, in both cases as Mozart's Count. His other roles include Scarpia, Don Giovanni, and Falstaff, and he sang Massenet's Sancho Panza at Florence and Monte Carlo in 1992.
