Baha'u'llah was a prolific writer and his Kitab al-Aqdas, ``The Most Holy Book,'' is the main sacred writing of the Baha'i faith. Founded in mid-nineteenth century Persia by the prophet Baha'u'llah, the religion teaches that divine revelation is continuous and progressive, and that all the great religions of the world are fundamentally in harmony. She also used the example of Hayden to invest "negritude," in particular, with unusually extended, personal, and religious overtones: "In light half-nightmare and half-vision he speaks of the face of Baha'u'llah, prophet of the Baha'i faith, in whose eyes Hayden sees the suffering of the men and women who died at Dachau and Buchenwald for their specific Negritude" (43). |
