Baie St Paul

City in southeastern Québec, Canada, 87 km/54 mi northeast of Québec City, situated on the north bank of the St Lawrence River, at the mouth of the Gouffre River, opposite the Ile aux Coudres; population (1991) 3,700. It is known as a summer resort and artists' colony.

The Gouffre valley has been farmed since 1678; hunting, fishing, and lumbering are also important, and iron is mined in the area.
