Bailey, Charles P(hilamore) (1911-1993)

US surgeon. During the 1940s, Bailey pioneered the surgical procedures, techniques, and instruments that made possible direct heart surgery. In the late 1960s, she began to study law, and retired from medicine to become a corporate legal consultant.
