Bailey, Pearl (1918–1988)

US vocalist and film and theatre actor. Bailey sang with bigbands led by figures such as Cab Calloway and Cootie Williams before starring in the Broadway musical St Louis Woman. From the 1950s she appeared in numerous films and television and stage shows, hosting her own variety show in the early 1970s.
