Baird, Julianne

    0.04 sec.

Baird, Julianne (1952– )

US soprano. She studied at the Eastman School and with Nikolaus Harnoncourt. She sang in New York with the Waverley Consort and made her stage debut in Handel's Il Pastor Fido, in 1980. Her clear, bright voice and agile coloratura are suited to the early music repertory: she has appeared in operas by Gluck, Purcell, Gagliano, and Charpentier in Los Angeles, Washington, and Santa Fe, and sang Dido and Aeneas in London in 1992. Her recordings include sacred music by Bach, Clérambault, Handel, and Pergolesi.
