Balbriggan

Seaside resort in County Dublin, Republic of Ireland, 35 km/22 mi north of the capital; population (2002) 6,600. The main industries are the manufacture of CD-ROMs and audio CDs and, on a smaller scale, clothing and plastics. Near Naul, 8 km/5 mi west of Balbriggan, is Fourknocks Hill, an important early Bronze Age site containing a large passage-grave, part of the Boyne Valley necropolis.
