Ball, Thomas (1819–1911)

US sculptor. He created the statues of the political figures George Washington in Boston Public Garden and Daniel Webster in Central Park, New York.

Ball was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts. He began as a professional singer, but soon turned to painting and sculpture. Other works include portrait busts of Daniel Webster and the singer Jenny Lind (both 1852).
