Ballantrae

Village in South Ayrshire unitary authority, Scotland, situated at the mouth of the River Stinchar, 42 km/26 mi southwest of Ayr; population (2001) 317. Originally the centre of a thriving fishing industry, the village's principal industry is now the cultivation of potatoes.
