Balloch

Village in West Dunbartonshire unitary authority, Scotland, on the southern end of Loch Lomond, at the head of the industrialized Vale of Leven, 8 km/5 mi northwest of Dumbarton; population (2001) 3,150. Balloch is a rail terminus for the loch steamer and a popular boating centre.

Nearby Balloch Castle has been developed as a country park.

This year's event is now gearing up to be this summer's festival of choice, with a stellar line-up in the beautiful surroundings of Balloch Castle Country Park, overlooking Loch Lomond.
The Babyshambles singer, right, announced he will play at this year's Live at Loch Lomond, sparking outrage from residents in Balloch, West Dunbartonshire, who believe hundreds of addicts will follow him.
The boy, thought to be aged 14 or 15, was one of a group of youngsters who were leaping off Balloch Bridge on the River Leven, Dunbartonshire, on Friday night.
