Ballybunion

Village and seaside resort in County Kerry, Republic of Ireland, 14 km/9 mi northwest of Listowel, at the mouth of the River Shannon; population (2002) 1,760. Ballybunion's tourist attractions are its sea cliffs and caves, beaches and seaweed baths, golf, and amusement arcades. On the headland are the ruins of Ballybunion Castle.

The Rattoo Heritage Complex at Knappoge North, 11 km/7 mi from Ballybunion, outlines the history of north Kerry.
