Ballymoney

Market town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, 22 km/14 mi southeast of Portrush; population (2001) 9,000. It is the centre of a large agricultural area and has food-processing industries, manufacture of clothing and knitwear and medical supplies, and engineering works.

There are a number of prehistoric remains near Ballymoney, including a court tomb (10 km/6 mi southeast on Long Mountain) and Dooey's Cairn (12 km/7 mi southeast). Leslie Hill Historic Farm and Park is on the outskirts of the town.
