Barbé, Anton (died 1564)
| Flemish composer and first of a line of Antwerp musicians. He was Kapellmeister at Antwerp Cathedral 1527–62. He published Masses, motets, and chansons, and contributed a Dutch song to Tielman Susato's Het ierste musyck boexken/The First Music Book (1551), one of 11 volumes of pieces by composers of the time. |
