Barbary sheep

Species of bovid related to the goat and sheep. It has powerful horns and a goatlike odour, but is distinguished from goats by its longer tail and the mane of long hair on the throat and upper parts of the forelegs. It is found in North Africa and parts of the Sudan.

Classification

The Barbary sheep Ammotragus lervia is in family Bovidae, order Artiodactyla.
