Barlow, David (1927–1975)

English composer. He studied with Gordon Jacob at the Royal College of Music, London, and with Nadia Boulanger in France. His early music was Romantic in style; from 1963 he adopted serial technique.

two symphonies (1950 and 1959); variations for cello and orchestra (1969); Sinfonietta concertante for clarinet and orchestra (1972); The Lambton Worm for narrator and orchestra (1969).
