Barlow, John Perry (1948– )

US writer and cofounder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation in 1991. His writings about cyberspace issues, such as ‘Crime and Puzzlement’ (1991) and ‘A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace’ (1996), have circulated widely and influentially on the Internet.

Barlow was formerly a lyricist for the US psychedelic rock group the Grateful Dead.
