Barrow, (Edward Grant) Ed (1868–1953)

US baseball manager and executive. Elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 1953, he led the Boston Red Sox to a World Series championship as their manager in 1918. As general manager of the New York Yankees 1921–45, he shaped the successful teams of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Joe DiMaggio.
