Barry, David

    0.03 sec.

Barry, David (1580–1629)

English dramatist. He wrote Ram-Alley or Merrie Trickes 1611, a coarse but spirited and humorous play.

There is confusion about his name; he was Lord Barry and the abbreviation ‘Lo’ was expanded into Lodowick. He is said to have accompanied the adventurer Walter Raleigh to Guiana in 1617.
