The isotopic ratios measured in extragalactic gas clouds can be compared to Big Bang Nucleosynthesis calculations in order to place limits on the ratio of baryons to photons in the early universe. However, the CP-violation found in kaon decays, and incorporated into the Standard Model (SM) via the quark mixing mechanism, is too weak to explain the excess of baryons over antibaryons. |
