Baskin, Leonard (1922-2000)

US artist and sculptor. Baskin's major work is the long-delayed F D Roosevelt Memorial for Washington, DC, which was begun in 1990. His sculptures show a dedication to social humanism, and his work shows the influence of the English writer and artist William Blake. His sculptures, woodblocks, and graphics include Angel of Death (1959).
