Bastien und Bastienne

Singspiel by Mozart, K50 (libretto by F W Weiskern and A Schachtner, based on Charles-Simon Favart's parody of Rousseau's pastoral opera Le Devin du Village), It was first produced in Vienna, Austria, at the house of Anton Mesmer (the hypnotist) in September 1768. In the story Bastienne seeks the advice of a magician to win back the heart of the inattentive Bastien.
