Batsford, Bradley Thomas (1821–1904)

English publisher. After working as a bookseller for many years, he founded a family publishing firm with his three sons in 1874. Batsford soon established a reputation for well-produced books on architecture, topography, and social life.

Batsford was born in Hertford. He opened his own bookshop in London in 1843, dealing first in general and medical books, and later specializing in architecture and engineering.
