Battenberg

Title (conferred 1851) of German noble family; its members included Louis, Prince of Battenberg, and Louis Alexander, Prince of Battenberg, the father of Louis Mountbatten, who anglicized his name to Mountbatten in 1917 due to anti-German feeling in Britain during World War I.
