Baudo, Serge (1927- )

French conductor. He made his debut in 1950 with the Concerts Lamoureux. He had engagements at the Paris Opéra from 1962, La Scala in Milan, and New York Metropolitan Opera, and was chief conductor of the Orchestre de Paris 1967-69. He gave the first performances of Olivier Messiaen's Et exspecto resurrectionem mortuorum (Chartres, 1965) and La Transfiguration (Lisbon, 1969). He founded the Berlioz Festival in Lyon, France, in 1979.
