There is an annual regatta, and a music festival is held in early summer. Beaumaris Castle, one of the finest European examples of the concentric type, was founded by Edward I in 1295, and is classified by the United Nations as a World Heritage site.

Other features include Beaumaris Courthouse, which was built in 1614 and renovated in the 19th century, and Beaumaris Gaol which was built in 1829; both buildings are open to the public.
