Bavarian Highlands, Scenes from the

Six Choral Songs with piano, Op. 27, by Edward Elgar; they were composed in 1895 and first performed in Worcester, England, on 21 April 1896. A version with orchestra was completed in 1896. Nos. 1, 3, and 6 were arranged for orchestra alone as Three Bavarian Dances, first performed at Crystal Palace, London, on 23 October 1897, conducted by August Manns.
