Bavichi, John (1922– )

US composer. He studied with Walter Piston at Harvard and after war service was active in Boston as a conductor and teacher (Arlington Philharmonic, 1968–82). His music often employs classical forms.

Works Orchestral concertante for oboe, bassoon, and strings (1961); There is Sweet Music Here for soprano and orchestra (1985).
