Bax, Ernest Belfort

Bax, Ernest Belfort (1854–1926)

English journalist and political writer who, together with William Morris, founded the Socialist League in 1885.

Bax was born in Leamington. Following his association with Morris, he joined the Social Democratic Federation, and became the editor of its organ Justice. He wrote books on history and socialism, and recorded his life in Reminiscences and Reflections, 1918.
