Baybay

Town on the west coast of Leyte Island in the Philippines, situated 65 km/40 mi southwest of Tacloban (capital of Leyte province); population (1990) 82,300. Baybay is an important hemp port.

The Visayan State College of Agriculture, funded by the World Bank, is 7 km/4 mi to the north.
