Bazelon, Irwin (Allen) (1922–1995)

US composer. He studied with Hindemith, Milhaud, and Bloch and composed much film music and incidental music for Shakespeare's plays.

seven symphonies (1963–80), Symphonie Concertante (1963), Excursions for orchestra (1966), Early American Suite (1970), Spirits of the Night for orchestra (1976), Spires for trumpet and orchestra (1981), Trajectories for piano and orchestra (1984), Motivations for trombone and orchestra (1985), Fourscore 2 for percussion quartet and orchestra (1988).

Chamber

Chamber Symphony for seven instruments (1957), Sound Dreams for six instruments (1977), two string quartets, three piano sonatas.

Vocal

Legends and Love Letters for soprano and chamber orchestra (1987).
