Beatrice di Tenda

Opera by Bellini (libretto by F Romani), first produced at the Teatro La Fenice, Venice, Italy, on 16 March 1833. The eponymous Beatrice is married to the greedy Duke Filippo but loves Orombello. She is executed on account of infidelity and treason by the Duke, who loves only the power acquired through her lands and her lady-in-waiting, Agnese.
