Beauly

Town in Highland unitary authority, Scotland, on the mouth of the River Beauly as it enters Beauly Firth, 20 km/13 mi west of Inverness; population (2001) 1,170. The ruins of the Valliscaulian Priory of St John, founded in 1230, and Lovat Castle are sited nearby.
