Bechtel, Stephen Davison (1900–1989)

US engineering and construction executive. After joining his father's construction business, Bechtel was responsible for the construction of the Hoover Dam in 1931. He combined his business interests to form the Bechtel Corporation in 1946, the largest corporation of its kind in the world.
